Often the knowledge of grammar and syntax gained through learning the foreign language will provide them with a greater appreciation of their own language.

Culturally, students become aware that their own culture is simply one of many unique cultures that make up our world.

Classroom work includes group activities, audio/video based tasks and the use of interactive language software.

As members of a multicultural community, it is important that students are aware of the differences and the similarities that exist between cultures. The study of a foreign language provides an ideal forum for students to develop a greater appreciation of cultural diversity.
